Most of the
issues regarding NetBus is explained in the NetBus.rtf
(Rich Text Format) manual, which resides in the NetBus
package. However, there are still some issues that the
manual doesn't explain or that should be cleared out.
Q: When is a new version out?
A: You never know. It could be tomorrow, it could be in a
year. As an individual programmer you could not promise
any release date.
Q: Will there be any new version at all?
A: Probably. Besides some small bug-fixes, I'll hope to
add a real-time screen-capturing feature like PC Anywhere
in the future. And again, don't ask when it will be
released, all I can tell you is that it will be released
on this site (hopefully).
Q: How do you remove the NetBus server
from my PC?
A: I provide two solutions, one for the older and one for the newer version of the NetBus server. Read
both, and you should be able to remove it. If you still
got problems, you should ask the person who installed it
for help, he is responsible for helping you.
Q: I can't connect to anyone. What am I
doing wrong?
A: Forgotten that the NetBus server must be running on
the target computer, or that a host-name or IP-address is
necessary to address the target computer? Also,
ICQ-IP-sniffers is nice to sniff peoples IP-addresses on
ICQ, even if they "hide" them.
Q: Is NetBus illegal?
A: Of course NOT! Is Format, FDisk and PC Anywhere
illegal? - of course NOT! It's just your own actions that
could be illegal. Besides that, NetBus could be used as a
nice network administration tool.
Q: Donīt you get worried when you
realize that NetBus is becoming a gun in the hands of
hackers?
A: Yes, when it's used to damage other systems. People
that use it in that way is in not "real"
hackers. These people is lacking of total respect to
other. But I hope NetBus (and similar programs like Back
Orifice) will make more people aware of the security
risks at their system.
Q: Why did you do this software?
A: NetBus was made to let people have some fun with
his/her friends. In other words, my attention with NetBus
in the beginning was neither to have it as an
administration tool nor as an hacking-tool. Future
version will become a more serious administration tool.
I hope this
FAQ made you a little clever. If you still have a
question that you want me to answer, I hope it's a good
one. I'm getting more than 50 mails/day, and it is
impossible to answer all of these.
